Fantastic airport. Small but extremely efficient, truly lovely people working there.

Even has a small snack shop and souvenir shop in the terminal.

Cutest tiny little airport, easy going and unproblematic. Yes, TSA can be a little intense and too detailed sometimes, but it’s okay, they never took something from me, they were just checking. Generally friendly TSA officers, they mostly just respond to your own attitude iykyk.

The best way to fly into Cayman Brac

We had the worst travel experience out of this airport. The security staff first went through our carry-on luggage, and then they also went through every little piece in our checked-in luggage, they caused us to be late for our flight, the pilot actually had to wait and delay the flight for us to finally be able to board, while the airport staff were almost about to go through my tampons, checking every little corner in our luggage and found NOTHING. I mean, REALLY?

The Security and airport management here should be fired for this unprofessional behavior. If you have a training day for your staff, try not to inconvenience the passengers and cause an entire flight to be late just because you want to go through every little packed item. We won't fly to Cayman Brac again just because of this bad experience at the airport.

The runway is on the southwestern end of Cayman Brac, and parallels the south shoreline. Approach and departures are over the water. the located 1.0 nautical mile (1.9 km) off the approach threshold of Runway 27.
The airport was renamed Charles Kirkconnell International Airport, in memory of Captain Charles Leonard Kirkconnell, a prominent local businessman with strong ties to the Sister Islands. Its previous name was Gerrard-Smith International Airport

Not many facilities, due to the size. The “cafe” is essentially just a small bar. Strangely intense TSA, and for some reason relatively unwelcoming or unfriendly airport staff. On the plus side, it is impossible to get lost, due to there only being two “gates” (doors out to the blacktop from the same waiting room). Don’t trust the signboards at the gate, either - they are rarely updated or accurate.

Friendly staff, numerous and thorough bag searches. Tiny airport but still necessary to be there 1hr before.

As you walk off of the airplane, you get that Island feeling. The airport is recently renovated with a modern look. The staff all seem very friendly and the airport was clean. There is actually a fire department and a car rental agency that you can access as you depart the airport.
