My family and I stayed at this b&b for 4 days and we loved the location, the tranquil, gorgeous house with a very refreshing pool overlooking la Cote d'Azur and the very kind hosts. |They are a Danish couple who have owned and run this place for 16 years, looking after it very well, working really hard and it shows.|The property is pristine and it is ideal to rent for a special family event; it can have ca 18 people staying.|There is no restaurant, but the owners cook 3 times a week for dinner and they always prepare something for lunch if warned the day before.|We never stayed for meals as we toured the area a lot, visiting Cannes, Nice, Cap Ferrat, Antibes, Monaco, Juan Les Pins, Villefranche s/m and more! |Breakfast is really good and rich - charged as a supplement, but totally worthwhile: café au lait, fresh orange juice, many types of bread, jams and butter, omelettes and eggs as one desires, salami, cheese, French croissants and pains au chocolat, great yoghurt with honey, fresh fruit salad. It is served in their patio facing the pool.|I would rate this place 4,5/5 if I had the half point choice. But I have to drop it to 4 because of the sleep quality. |We had the apartment with the terrace - beautiful and air conditioned; but there was no way to darken the main bedroom so, at 6am we were always awakened by the first sun beams of the day.|Our children had the sofabed which was small with a lumpy materass. Our host, however, gave my son a different room with no extra charge and that was super nice of him. They should not, however, offer the accomodation when children are teenagers. Moreover, the sofabed was in the sitting room with a wide uncurtained window. |Pillows were also an issue which they tried to resolve but could not get firm ones. |They have always been very kind and helpful though and accepted our suggestions to improve. |I'd therefore recommend this place with no hesitation for the beauty of the house, the cleanliness all around, the quality of breakfast and the quiet location which allows you to unwind completely when back from daily trips.

So glad to meet you!!!|It's all about people and when the people are beautiful, the place can't fall behind. Lars and Joan are amongst the most beautiful people we've ever met. You can feel that in every corner of the house, in every detail of design, in all the things spread around in a seductive display, in every bite of their delicious gourmet dishes. You can check for info on their web site, the movie says it all, but the feeling you get by being there it's hard to describe.|We've took our kids, 3&5 years old and they were so happy there, swimming in the pool and playing with the dog, that none of us was wanting to leave. We can't forget the faces made out of eggs and ham Lars have made for Breakfast!|We totally loved it! Thank you for offering us such a delightful experience!

The photos of this place, while amazing, don't do it justice. The quiet elegance, comfort and hospitality of Lars and Joan made this the highlight of our trip! The room had amazing views, was quiet and secluded with a table on the terrace where we drank an amazing wine selected by Lars from his cellar. We arrived rather late and on a monday making reservations for dinner an issue. No problem for Lars and Joan. They whipped out the best lasagna I have ever had in my life (he makes the bolognese with left over cutting from the filets he makes for large groups!) a simple salad and more wine. They let us stay past checkout as we had a late flight and luckily there was no one coming in that day. I'm already trying to figure out how to get back and bring the whole family!

A luxury stay with homely atmosphere.||It was the first time we visited "Le Haut des Espinets". Expectations were turned up, and yet they were surpassed by reality. A holiday experience in top class.||"Le Haut des Espinets" is incredibly beautifully renovated, respecting the original style and with attention to details. We experienced a homely comfort in the living room with a bit of crackle in the fireplace. From the terrace with the covered bar and pool, we enjoyed a breath taking view over the surrounding countryside and from our room we had a nice view on the Mediterranean. A bright double room, nicely decorated and with direct access to the terrace.||But our experience was not limited to the property alone. The place was filled with human warmth and atmosphere, guaranteed by its hosts, Joan and Lars. They are extremely hospitable, servicing and with a good eye for visitors' well-being. And then they create food, making angels sing. A culinary "Tour de France" of dimensions.||Saint Paul de Vence is a "pearl", and the area in itself offers countless experiences, both in nature and city "shopping".||We highly recommend "Le Haut des Espinets" if you want to pamper yourselves.||||Aase and Bent Kjeldsen

Just spent 2 nights at this gem. Wish we had more time. Perfectly situated in the hills behind Nice, with beautiful views of the surrounding area. Also close to major sights: St Paul de Vence and Haut des Cagnes, both exquisite historic sights. For the fit and hardy they are reachable on foot, with a hilly hike of approx 45 mins. Otherwise a quick taxi ride. Beware, taxis are not cheap in this part of the world, but worth it as parking is tough at the sights. As for the accommodations themselves, the place is beautiful and magnificently restored/updated/maintained. We stayed in the upstairs suite which was a bit of overkill for just 2 people but lovely with total privacy and unbelievable views. The place is spotless and the bed very comfy. I felt like I was in a brand new castle. The grounds are also lovely with a fabulous pool and tennis court. Best of all were Joan and Lars, and their help. Not only were they charming and extremely accommodating, the food was exquisite, with Lars certainly having a great future as a top chef if he ever chose to leave the hotel business. The one dinner we had there was the best meal of our 2 week vacation, which included 1 week on a boutique luxury cruise line. Finally, I would point out that this NOT a run of the mill B&B. It is not a cheap alternative to staying in Nice or other beach towns. It is however well worth it. I look forward to going back someday.
